The Assignment

You will plan a trip lasting a maximum of three months, scheduled during any part of the year.  The trip may start and stop anywhere but must include the stops described on the APoints of Interest@ sheet.

Along with the information gathered and presented as the project, trip details will be summarized in a chart designed and produced by students in your presentation.  The details will be as follows:

#                   Attraction visited

#                   Purpose of the visit

#                   Time spent at site

#                   Distance traveled from one capital city to another (you will start your province in the capital city and leave from the same capital city)

#                   Mode of travel

If a journal binder is completed, a large bristol board map will be submitted with the project.  The map will include map essentials, identify each of the sites visited and trace the different methods of transportation from one destination to the next.

During your trip you must travel using a car, rental car, plane, boat and one mode of your choice.

In your project, you are required to visit one NATIONAL PARK.  Follow the worksheets provided for the information required.  Remember to include a large scale and small scale map as well as information on land form region it is in, climate graph, flora and fauna, uniqueness, history, reasons for establishment, park role, services, and threats.

Helpful Hints....(these will help a lot!!!!)

#                   Look up the required Points of Interest first, recording important information such as location, population, importance, etc. (don=t forget to record the province it is in)

#                   When all required Points of Interest are completed, start plotting your trip in an orderly manner.  Remember, you can start and end anywhere, but visiting all Points of Interest within the same province makes your trip more reasonable.

#                   Save your project information with your and your partner’s name.  This way, it can be saved in a uniform manner and I can save it on my memory stick for marking.

#                   ALL COMPUTER PROJECTS WILL BE DONE IN THE POWER POINT/STAR OFFICE PROGRAM.

#                   This can be a partner project, (2 people only) BUT both partners must show work on the project.  Choose your partner carefully.
