FirstClass® Client setup at home.

These instructions are provided "as is" to make the setup of the FirstClass® client at home as easy as possible.
Use of FirstClass® on your own computer is not required and therefore the installation, setup and use is done so without support or liability of the Greater Essex County District School Board.

1. Make certain that you do not have FirstClass client running before starting this process.

2. Choose the software depending on your computer platform, either Macintosh, or Windows.
        Make your selection and select to run NOT save.

3. The software must be installed on your computer now.
        Both are standard install programs, follow the instructions, and accept all defaults.

4. Once installed is complete, launch the FirstClass client.
                If this is an upgrade install to the new version, go to step 9.

5. At the login Window, click the Setup button.
        Enter your UserID in the UserID field

6. Enter  fc.gecdsb.on.ca  on the Server: line

        Leave all the rest of the fields blank.
7.      Select Secure for the security settings.

8.      Click the save button.

9.  Back at the login screen, enter your password and click login.

If this is the first time you've installed FirstClass you will see the following window message.

10. Click the Accept button, to complete the setup.
        You will be connected to the Board's FirstClass® System.
